Originally from Paterson, NJ. Built up my art-life skills in NYC and LA. Now based in Austin, TX.
When I lived in NYC I had a tiny apartment with barely any room for a bed. I needed somewhere to stash my iPhone and glasses at night, so I cut open a tissue box and stapled it to the wall
to act as a shelf. Sure I could have gone out and bought a floating shelf, but I needed a solution that was fast with minimal effort because I was always short on time. I had that half-box
up on the wall for 2 more years until I moved out.
This is how I approach problems. I look around my environment and see what can be re-purposed to solve a problem. It saves valuable time and money - things that are precious. I approach website development the same way by using a templating process; and use software that can design and implement prototypes at the same time.
I am now located in Austin, TX and started my own digital design company: Maggie Bird. I'm about a year away from graduating with my Masters in Human Computer Interaction at UT Austin. My undergrad is a Bachelors in Graphic Design for print. I also show my artwork regularly in local shows and a member of an artist collective based out of Rhode Island that has members across the states.
..and I run.
